Premier NEMT of Arizona is committed maintaining the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures that Premier NEMT of Arizona employees must follow to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Premier NEMT of Arizona recognizes the importance of protecting the confidentiality of PHI and is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of such information. This policy is designed to establish guidelines and procedures for the use and disclosure of PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
This policy applies to all Premier NEMT of Arizona employees, contractors, and affiliates who have access to PHI in the course of their work.
It is the responsibility of all Premier NEMT of Arizona employees to protect the privacy and security of PHI. Employees must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Only access PHI that is necessary for performing job duties.
- Do not disclose PHI to unauthorized individuals.
- Report any suspected unauthorized access to PHI immediately to the Privacy Officer.
- Follow all HIPAA security and privacy policies and procedures.
Premier NEMT of Arizona employees may use and disclose PHI for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations purposes as permitted by HIPAA regulations. Any other use or disclosure of PHI must be authorized by the individual or required by law.
Premier NEMT of Arizona implements physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and integrity of PHI. Employees must follow these safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to PHI.
